THE STORY OF WoodWorkHER
A busy girl, chasing her dreams.
I, Emma Laufenberg, started this business because I kept coming up with ideas for things I could make with wood but had no way to execute them and sell them with the business I already owned. So, by starting this business, I have found a way to play around with the ideas floating around in my head. Since then, I have started honing my skills with a scroll saw and building things that I haven't thought I could ever build. I truly love the creativity this business has given me, and I am so lucky I get to share it with all of you.

I grew up on my family farm; I am the fifth generation to work on the farm. When I was 14, I started my first business, EL Barn Quilts. I still own and run that business today. Starting that business at the age I was taught me so much; it taught me that if you want something, you need to work hard for it. I ran that business through high school and college, and when I graduated in 2019 with an accounting degree, I knew I wanted to take it to the next level. I work and work to market myself and my business, and in 2020, I got the idea for WoodworkHER. I came up with the name because when I would go and buy any wood or tools for my business, people would assume that it was not for me because of my age and my gender. The woodworking business is a very male-run industry, so I wanted people to know that a woman is making all of this! I made it my goal for 2023 to give this business the effort I gave EL Barn Quilts in 2019. So I started building! This website will show just the start of the ideas that I have. Come with me on this new journey and see what I can do!
